COVID-19 has emboldened our purpose of empowering people and nonprofits to help themselves and others through our mobile app – spave®.

In a recent Star Tribune article by Kelly Smith: Minnesota nonprofits lost about $1 billion in April because of COVID-19, Kari Aanestad, director of advancement for the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits said, "There's catastrophic revenue loss." As of early April, the most recent data available, nonprofits accounted for 6% of unemployment claims in Minnesota. Minnesota has more than 9,000 nonprofits, with a record 385,000 workers who make up 13.3% of the state's workforce.' 😳

In the May issue of the Twin Cities Business Magazine, Sarah Lutman wrote: "COVID-19 Cancels Nonprofits' Fundraising Season. The Minnesota nonprofit community is facing an existential threat from factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting shutdowns and social distancing mandates. Many nonprofits' core revenue sources are restricted to specific activities, in specific places, with specific measurable outcomes mandated by their funders. Nonprofits often operate on slim margins of unrestricted money -- funds that they can deploy for critical capacity-building or use to invest in opportunities. Unrestricted income allows nonprofits to control their destiny and empowers leaders to make the necessary choices as they see them, not as a funder requires."

Sadly, many nonprofits will never recover.

Our founder, Susan Langer saw the perfect storm on the horizon when she transitioned from donor to employee with World Vision, following the attacks on 9/11. Donations are deposited weekly into an FDIC-insured, non-interest bearing donor advised fund (DAF) and transferred monthly to user-selected nonprofits.
Donors receive 100% tax write-off and a detailed tax receipt at the end of each year and can track all their giving in one place.
Nonprofits receive access to secure, relevant technology without spending precious overhead -- no credit card fees, no costly technology development or maintenance expense, and little-to-no staff time to add content to existing communications. We make it as turn-key as possible for resource-strapped nonprofits generate new revenues from new generations through new technology ... enhancing the donor engagement and experience.
The DAF reimburses Live.Give.Save. 6.5% for building and maintaining the safe and secure technology ecosystem and for creating a fun and rewarding user experience. It also pays 3.5% to our strategic partner who manages the platform that provides access to more than 1.5 million accredited nonprofits.
